(Butler, PA) Carter Blystone shot a 5-over 77 on Friday to lead the Butler County Community College men’s golf team to three victories -- including one by one stroke -- in a quad-match at Lake Arthur Golf Club near Butler.

BC3 moved to 5-1-1 this fall by posting a 323 and defeating the Community College of Allegheny County, which had a 324.

Westmoreland County Community College placed third with a 332 and Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College fourth with a 333.

The lowest four individual scores from each squad are counted to determine a team total.

Jamestown’s Tyler Salvaggio finished as medalist with a 74. Allegheny County’s Kayden Lyons placed second with a 76 and Blystone third.

Westmoreland’s Shaun Kovac was fourth with a 78 and teammate Noah Dubyak tied for fifth with Allegheny County’s Conner Jacobson with a 79.

The Pioneers’ Colt Sprankle and Gannon Brown tied for seventh with 80s; Jamestown’s Chase Kolster was ninth with an 81 and Westmoreland’s Gunnar Shoop 10th with an 83.

The remaining top four scores for each team were Maddox Shaffer with an 86 for BC3; Johnny Lovre, 92, Westmoreland: Logan Rudolph, 84, Mack Dempsey. 85, and Henry Simcox, 85, CCAC; and Kyler Wojtowicz, 84, and Isaac Smait, 94, Jamestown.

Blystone and Brown are graduates of Butler Senior High School; Sprankle, of Knoch; and Shaffer, of Armstrong.

The Pioneers’ fall golf season concludes with the WPCC championship tournament. BC3’s spring season features regional play, regional tournaments and possible national championship appearances where golfers compete for All-American status.
